The 1 mukhi bead is the most auspicious Rudraksha on one hand and on
the other the most misunderstood variety among all Rudrakshas. If
somebody compiles stories being circulated about 1 mukhi a full book
can be written about it. 1 mukhi from Nepal if found hypothetically
shall be similar in shape but smaller compared to a 2 mukhi Nepal
(oval and flatter and having the shape of an eye if looked
sidewise). Its size may be 10 to 15mm long. It should not be
confused with the Chandrakar variety of Rameshwaram.Also any bead
from Nepal would have a natural hole in it which the Chandrakar
variety does not have. Indonesian 1 mukhi is very small 5mm to 8mm
long and 3 to 4mm in diameter. This Rudraksha has the shape of a
thick rice grain. 1 mukh is complete on one side and on the other
side there is a partial incomplete line just near the mouth. The
Kaju shaped bead or the Chandrakar variety is the most commonly
available type and it is regarded as the most auspicious substitute
for the other two varieties which are one of the rarest Rudraksha
beads to be found in nature. Ideally it is recommended to be kept at
the Puja place in ones house or office or worn during times of
meditation. Its effects may vary from person to person as the
properties described for various mukhis are as per our shastras and
imply for the Nepal or Indonesian variety.

pure human consciousness. The wearer gains both Bhoga and Moksha. He
lives a life of Raja Janak. He enjoys all the comforts at his
command and still remains unattached. It destroys sins of all types
committed by a person. It also increases concentration powers in a
person therefore those who are seeking Shiva Tattva use this
Rudraksha. One Mukhi is very ideal for doctors, as it helps to find
correct diagnosis and success in surgery. For overall contentment
and happiness along with spirituality and prayers this Rudraksha is
supreme. All adult persons can wear this Rudraksha, particularly
those who are seeking higher levels of concentration during
spiritual practices like meditation and those who are emotional and
do not wish to be affected by the happenings or ups and downs around
them. This Rudraksha is useful in removing headache, eye problem,
heart problems and diseases of Liver. This Rudraksha can also be
kept in the Puja place for getting the blessings of Lord Shiva and
for overall happiness.
